Mohit Suri's romantic film Sayyaara which released just 11 days ago is now an incredible success in Bollywood.Starring two completely new faces-Ahan Pandey and Anit Padda,the film has already earned more than Rs 400 crore worldwide despite its unpromoted release.It has become the most successful romantic film of 2025.
With this revenue,Saiyaara has surpassed several Bollywood blockbusters such as Kabir Singh(Rs 379 crore)or Sitare Zameen Paar(Rs 264 crore). However,its strangely unpromoted release has generated more discussion than its success.
There were no TV interviews, no live events,no attempts to create hype on social media Sayyara seemed to come quietly but it did a great job.
Yash Raj Films had a different plan behind it.Akshay Vidani,CEO of the production company,said in an interview,We didn't want the audience to judge these two new faces by watching the reels beforehand.We wanted them to see them on screen for the first time—with the full story and emotion.
While some have called such a release without promotion risky it has now proven that content is king.Sayyara is the best example of how a film can become a blockbuster without a huge budget for promotion.
It's rare for Bollywood to have such a profitable romantic film with a fresh face.
And So Sayaraa is not just another successful film-it's become a bold example of a new marketing idea.
